There are 9 types of guest rooms available, all of which differ in size and the view from the room. The view can be of 3 types, the garden view, the sea view, and the garden terrace room. Guests can choose from deluxe rooms, superior rooms, or premium rooms, junior suites, luxury suites, and presidential suites. The options for accommodation are many and bound to suit the different tastes of different guests. the rooms are elegantly decorated with the latest gadgets and amenities including Wi-Fi, geyser, television, coffee and tea maker, hot tubs and jacuzzi. Room service is quick and provides you with whatever you need. Hospitality is not only limited to the room but in every corner of the resort including the spa and pool areas.

Oriental Pavilion

It’s the best place to dine when you’re craving Chinese cuisine. The dress code for this restaurant within the resort is smart casuals. The ambiance is intricately designed and the food adds more weight to the restaurant as a whole. Oriental Pavilion is only open for dinner and supper from 7 pm to 11 pm.

Far from fine dining, this is more like a lounge or a resto-bar with a glamorous ambiance. Serving exotic cocktails, the place is blaring with music and sure to leave you to foot tapping. The place is open all day from 11 am to 11 pm.  It is the best lounge is all of Bentota.

Sea View

As the name suggests the restaurant is facing the Indian ocean and gives a spectacular view along with an elegant and classy ambiance. The cuisine is fusion dining and continental couples with mild Sri Lankan flavors so as to keep it authentic and homely. The seating is outdoor in order to enjoy the cool sea breeze.

As the name suggests, the dining is outdoor surrounded by the palm trees by the pool of the resort. International and Sri Lankan Cuisine are served here for breakfast as well as dinner. It is an idyllic all-day dining spot with a magnificent view.

S.H.A.C.K

An absolutely gleeful and romantic place for dinner. An ideal way of eating dinner by the beach is in a shack by the beach. This facility of the resort is an absolute delight. The shacks are secluded to ensure the ultimate privacy of the guests. It is the best place for exotic seafood and is open only for dinner from 7 pm to 11 pm.

Safety & Security

Being part of the Taj group of hotels, the Taj Bentota Resort & Spa is under tremendous pressure to sustain the image and name of the hotel. Safety and security are at the top of their priority list to ensure no discomfort to their guests. Bookings are only made through authenticated agents and after checking the validity of the passport and other documents. The baggage is scanned and tagged with the guest’s name on it. For the safety of the belongings of the guests, there are lockers and safes in their rooms too. All passports and identification proofs are scanned and kept safe on the database of their computer. There is always a doctor on call for a kind of emergencies. Fire alarms are installed at strategic places too.

Pricing

The deluxe and superior garden view rooms range from $200 to $250. The suites have a larger square area with better amenities and bigger balconies with an all-round view of the hotel cost anywhere between $500 and $700. The most expensive suite is the presidential suite with a sea view costing $1400 per night.

Sightseeing

The main attraction of Bentota is its beach, which is just across the resort. The beaches are thriving with activities and pubs and water sports. The recommended sightseeing includes whale watching at Galle followed by indulging in retail therapy from the local shops at Galle. You can also visit the Galle fort and lighthouse to explore the remnants of the Dutch and Portuguese rule. The Kosgoda turtle hatchery can also be visited, it’s a safe place for turtles and makes them breed, you can interact with them by playing with them and feeding them.
